I stumbled across this book the other day, and I think it might be the best book ever. Linnaea isn’t quite ready for it—too abstract—but I find that it’s at least as useful to me as it would be to her. Among its many gems:

You have to be HONEST
You have to be FAIR
You have to be STRONG
and
You have to be WISE

And there is no good
in trying
to fool yourself.
All that isn’t so easy.

After it’s gone along for a while, explaining what each of those attributes involves, we read:

What started this after-dinner silliness? Track 9 from World Playground, an album she inexplicably calls “dog music,” and requests constantly. In fact, I think it’s in the CD player right now…
