I was going to make a separate post, but as this picture is already here:
The boy received the pictured Hess truck for Christmas from his great-grandparents. As you can see, it is an 18-wheeler with a car trailer for two race cars. If you are unfamiliar with Hess vehicles, they are usually quite detailed, articulated, and light up. The boy became instantly attached, and would carry the whole thing around with him like a teddy bear. He isn’t allowed to take it to bed anymore though, because he pulls the wheels off.
But as it is such a cool toy, lighting up and all, his older sister also thinks it is neat and likes to play with it. This action is not well received by the truck’s owner. Several nights we’ve heard Trip start talking in his sleep (talking is the wrong word – yelling, crying, shouting – these would all be appropriate) while having an apparent nightmare. “No Naina, my truck!” It has begun.
So, great-grandma and great-grandpa, thank you very much for the truck. It is well loved.
